STYLE WARS REVISED STYLE WARS REVISED

It’s Summer time! Let’s get out and hang on a Sunday evening and watch one of my favorite counter culture documentaries that inspired Mear One to get involved in art! We have been planning this for some time and Im finally excited to see this come intro fruition. The folks over at the Oscar Outdoors and KCRW’s Event Department have been hard at work to make this happen!  I’ll be on the turntables with some B Boys and street artists showcasing work in real time.  I’m also excited to announce that the film’s co director Henry Chalfant will be in the house for an introduction and Q&A.

ABOUT

On Sunday, July 28 Oscars Outdoors and KCRW present Style Wars, the 1983 counterculture documentary about street art and hip hop in New York City.  Featuring music from KCRW DJ Anthony Valadez, the experience will also include street artists in action, an introduction by and conversation with the film’s co-director Henry Chalfant, live b-boy dance performances, a street art gallery and NYC style food trucks.

Bring your picnic baskets, blankets, lawn chairs, BYO beer & wine and enjoy a night under the stars!  Capacity is limited, so reserve your spot now (there will also be a standby line at the door night-of).  Come early to grab your spot on the lawn – gates open at 6pm.
