Not only did he drop an incredible EP entitled PwEP2, but this man is writing grants that incorporate the parallels between insects and African Amercians, teaching courses in Afrofuturism and experimental music, playing out with various communities across LA at the ACE and NY jazz scenes. And then on top of that you find him playing with Karen, the house band for the Late Late Show on CBS! This turned out to be a great chat. Hope you dig!
MoodSwings airs Tuesday nights at 8pm [PST] on Dash Radio.
This man pretty much served as the soundtrack of my college years in the time of self discovery. So It was an honor to have him on my show and talk about his current state of mind and get a taste of new material set to drop in the first quarter of 2017.
ABJO has long blown my mind with his production work. Well spoken and equally creative, this is a kid I think you will more from in the future. Enjoy!
*NOTE – Pulled from the vaults. Recorded in 2014.
Here’s our conversation with Senay Kenfe (Boiler Room). Hope you dig!
One of my favorite producer’s drops by and talks about his musical journey that led him across the midwest to LA and now settled in London. We also play music that demonstrates his ability to jump from different styles but all come from an authentic place. Get to know Tall Black Guy!
Kenny makes beats that just feel warm and fuzzy. It was awesome to hear his history that spans beyond the current “beat scene” but dating back to the Project Blowed days. Hope you dig!
This week’s guest is on my Dash Radio program is Rob Roy. Easily one of my favorites in general. His latest project is entitled Johnny. We discuss the creative process, inspirations and discuss Werner Herzog, Jodeci and working odd jobs as a source influence.
Mood Swings airs every Tuesday night from 8pm – 9 pm (PST) on Dash Radio.
