CULTURE + REAL TIME ADVENTURES
Gangs somehow popped up on my radar with the lush and dark track “This Time Around”. I did my research and found out these mysterious folks were in LA and on indie label “New Los Angeles”.
Here are a few of the snapshots I took with my phone from my recent Toronto trip as well as some local shots around LA and in some hiking areas. Follow me on Instagram for real time snapshots of my adventures.
I’n my ongoing urban exploration series, check out these snapshots I took alongside @4thandSpring from the other day. It seriously felt like the beginning of a horror flick entering some of these dark spaces and not knowing what might exist behind a closed door.

album entitled Comet, Come To Me. 13 songs that once again explore every human emotion possible in one’s lifetime in a matter 45 minutes.
I found out about this guy via his social media presence. Then he dropped a couple of videos and I realized that this guy has an amazing gift of wordplay. And then he began dropping WWF/WWE references on Twitter and then I became a fan! Speak drops by the basement for an interesting chat about his journey as an artist.
I’ve been intrigued by the street wear scene for the past 10 years. Most of you have probably seen brands come and go. I had a great chat w/ Chris Gibbs over at Union and he broke down the science of connecting with your audience and sharing quality apparell that would last of 10 years and still be something you would want to wear.
Kawai is not just a person with a camera in hand, but a hustler who understands the importance of connecting the dots. I have known her for some time and her portfolio speaks for itself. But what most draws me to her work ethos is the drive, the passion and the ability to just enjoy the now. Take a listen!
This week’s guest is Wil Dog! I’ve heard about his side project El Gavachillo for a minute now and we discuss his exploration into the Bandas world of sound as well as his journey as a kid growing up in Los Angeles during such a pivotal time for the hip hop generation of b boying, community activism and the merging of so many cultures that would later become the sound of Ozomatli
This week has been crazy for me personally. My perspective on life changed a bit due to a sudden health scare and the entire time I walked more, sat in the shower more, thought more and restricted myself from more work. But the camera was still in hand. Peep the pics!
Throwback night at Zanzibar on a Tuesday night. Looking forward to digging in the crates for this one. Hope to see you durr’.
Got lost in DLTA last Thursday night on 6th and Union and saw this really beautiful altar which caught my eye. Wondered around the block and snapped some shots.
