It’s #NewMusicFriday (Thanks Tay for the kick in the butt) and it’s been a tough day (RIP Bill Withers) and a tough month (RIP Sanity), but the music continues to find it’s way into people’s ears and hearts. I’m curious to hear what music will feel and sound like 4 months from now. Thundercat and Nick Hakim seemed to have tapped into the mood prior to all this. Listen to the full playlist here. Be safe!
Hey friends + fam.
New Music Friday continues during such uncertain times but I truly hope all this music helps with a little escape. I just purged through old records to make way for new sounds. Listen directly via Spotify here. Canada comes in strong with the new PartyNextDoor and Jessie Reyez who has one of the freshest voices in music today. Also on the radar is new KNXWLEDGE w/ Anderson .Paak, And don’t sleep on Cleo Sol. Her whole production on this new album is timeless.
Crazy times we I’ve in but the show must go on and the beat don’t stop. It’s New Music Friday to help keep us all sane and I couldn’t be more happier with my soundtrack. Normally I would be prepping for my weekend radio show and tonight’s gig but like Kanye once said “When you make plans, God laugh’s”. Please hit me via email if you need to talk, chat. I’m here.

New gems from the Mac Miller deluxe release, Kutmah delivers on All City and a reissue from Hiroshi Yoshimura. Also new Villagers, Louis Prince, Sam Gendel covers as classic and Onipa with the world vibes. And big hometown love to Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhannad’s new project titled “Jazz Is Dead“. Hope you dig. Listen directly here.
Here are some of my favorite recent releases that are fresh on the radar for the past 2 weeks. BROCKHAMPTON team up with Dua Lipa, UK producer Kamaal Williams goes live, Jhene Aiko returns with her sultry feel (Born Tired is my new anthem) and Disclosure rework a dance floor classic. Indie phenom Mk.gee is back with a heater alongside The Maries, Medsasin w/ Cautious Clay and the return of one of my personal heroes, Tricky. Go to Spotify direct to listen!
